I bought this washing machine model WD-14576RD - after a good amount of research and frankly was happy with it for 4 long years. The high end nature of the built and useability was fully appreciated. I have used many imported machines and must tell you this is one good piece of metal. Well built, designed, finished and provided product.
However the trouble starts when it comes to its service. The water pump of these machines has some inherent issue and fail after 3 or 4 years. Replacing them is expensive and LG support has no handle of these aspects. All they know is get a new one that costs 1.5K rip out the machine and replace it.
The replacement lasts for 3 to 5 months and fails again. I have been through this saga for the last 15 months now and the local LG support has no inkling of how to resolve this. The machine makes such a noise that my neighbors have decided to complain against me for using it ... this is really embarrassing. I have had to replace them 5 times and each of them failed. They appear spurious to me. I have failed at getting LG to fix this and am giving up.
Just do not fall for the high end marketing of these machines. The almost 1 lac price line is not worth it if this headache is to be recurring every 6 months. I wish i had waited and picked up an European model I am sure i would have had good service from them and given their robust built these issues do not arise at all.
