LG Service for washing machines is worse than your worst nightmare
The product is good has served me well for the last 4 years or so, but recently it started giving problems and I called LG. Their service guys are a bunch of completely unprofessional, unethical and untruthful people.
The guy came, pulled out some PCB out of the washer, said he needs to take it back to his shop for repairs and vanished. I had to chase him up over the next 10 days. He never answers the phone, his boss doesnt have a phone, his office has no idea where he is and LG Service call center kept saying they were in Delhi and cant do much about whats happening in Bangalore.
Eventually he turned up, 10 days later, and said he has fixed the problem. I went down to the linen room and just as I was about to turn on the washer, he said,
"Dont turn it on"
"Why?" I asked
"Because the PCB is fixed but the motor has a problem"
"So ?"
"You cant turn on the machine"
"How do we fix this motor ?"
"The brushes are gone and will have to be replaced"
"Ok, when can you get them replaced ?"
"Brushes are out of stock"
"When will you receive stock ?"
"Dont know. The brushes are not in production now"
"So how do we fix the washer"
"We have to change the motor"
and this conversation went on on the same lines for some time till I figured out that this guy has no clue what he trying to do, but kept telling me what its going to cost me.
It was about 2 weeks into this whole affair and I was completely frustrated. Ultimately, I threw out the service guy, and junked the washer and bought a new one.
PLEASE DONT TRUST A WORD OF WHAT LG SAYS ABOUT THEIR AFTER SALES SERVICE. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS LG AFTER SALES SERVICE.*
