We had been looking for a good Washing Machine for a long time. Visited various showrooms and did an internet study. Our requirement was a front loading washing machine with hot water facility. We looked at various brands. We liked most brands that were available, including LG, Samsung, Siemens, IFB etc. We finally short-listed 2 brands viz: LG & Siemens.
Our budget was around Rs. 25K. We really liked the Silver LG 7.5 kg machine. We were debating if we should go in for a 6.5 kg or 7.5 kg. But after some thought, we decided that since this was a onetime investment, it would be best to go in for the 7.5 kg (maximum capacity). That way, there would not be any capacity restrictions if we decided to wash heavy curtains, big bed sheets etc. We liked the Siemens washing machine too. The build quality of the Siemens washing machine appeared to be a notch higher than the LGs, Samsungs, IFB etc. But the only downside was, it was around Rs. 31K and had 5.5 kg capacity.
We finally settled for the Silver LG WD-12485TP washing machine. We bought the LG WD-12485TP Washing Machine from Reliance Digital in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. The service was really good. We booked it in the morning and had the delivery at our doorstep the same day evening. The very next day a Reliance Digital engineer stopped by and hooked up the machine and gave us a demo. He suggested going in for an extended warrantee and so we did.
It has been over 6 months now and we are very happy with the performance. We have used the big drum capacity several times to wash heavy curtains, bed sheets, entire pillows etc. The machine has child safety feature as well as other features that control the water temperature. We use the Rinse+ feature a lot. It also has ‘crease care’, ‘bio’ etc. functions. Overall we have been pleased with this LG product.
