LIC a Government Organisation in Service Industry has really amazed me. Gone are the days when the same set of people sold the product more for investment pruposes rather then talking about and convincing customers about the insurance needs . The pathetic back room operations were a pain - but now the reminders on e-mail & SMS, Option of creating your account on the LICs website - and a Great website to understand your insurance needs .
Some times in the begining of the year the ETs survey on Service sector companies had LIC on top. While lot of MNCs had their experiences in their own and many other conutries which were quite advanced as far as service sector was concerned - however to LIC to be on learning curve of putting a huge lot of things to improve upon their services and implement them beautifully - has been amazing.
While in the same survey no insurance sector MNC comes near LIC - which itself is a great achivement.
Surely enough going by what LIC has done to the Insurance the other service sectore setups like Telephone, Electricity, can take a lessen from their rich experience.
