LIC is one of the worst organisations on the earth. I have been dealing with LIC since I took some policies way back in 1979 when LIC was a monopoly in life insurance. But the employees have not changed their attitude even though competition has come up in the private sector. LIC has made my policies to lapse due to mistakes by their staff in various branches.
The standard behaviour of LIC staff is: employees prefer to deal with agents, NOT with the insured persons for obvious reasons. Keep on passing the buck to some other employee / department / branch find excuses for NOT doing your work give wrong information missing from their seats for long times busy gossiping among themselves or on phones (specially if the phone has STD connection, then there is a queue of LIC employees waiting for their turns to make STD calls - no, not official, but to families and friends!!!) do not bother to even offer a seat to customer standing in front of them.
I have been trying for more than five years to get matters sorted out about my policies, but the only response is make me shuttle between various branches. They keep on shifting the blame to each other, without solving the problems. Branch has so-called CRM , Customer Relationship Manager who is supposed to be one-point contact for solving customer problems. But of no use. Just passing the buck like others.
Hence they very rightly say, LIC means Life in Comfort, but this applies ONLY to LIC
employees and perhaps their pampered agents.
Interestingly, when dealing with some employees in some private insurance
companies, when I find the behaviour of someone just like what I stated above,
I can easily guess (correctly) that that employee is ex LIC employee!!!!
