The Lovable Josutty

Life of Josutty is a family drama directed by Jeethy Joseph and Rajesh Varma. This movie is the comeback of Jeethu Jospeh to Malayalam film industry after the industrial hit Drishyam. It is also the first Malayalam venture by the distribution biggie Eros International. Dileep, Rachana Narayanankutty, Jyothi Krishna, Asqa Bhatt, Hareesh Perady and Suraj Venjarammoodu play the lead roles.

The movie tells the story of Josutty who is from a middle class family who has lot of goodness in him. His father Joseph is a farmer and mother Shoshamma is a house wife. Josutty is in love with his neighbor Jessy and they both of them know each other from childhood. But due to some unexpected incidents Josutty leaves Jessy and marries a divorced girl named Rose who is a nurse in New Zealand. After the marriage he moves to New Zealand along with his wife and what happens next forms the crux of the movie.

For the very first Jeethu Joseph is directing a movie with a script written by someone else. As always Jeethu Joseph once again proved his talent and caliber as a director and he keeps growing bigger. Writer Rajesh Varma comes up with an interesting subject and he succeeds in conveying it to the audience with his screenplay.

The technical side is another highlight of the movie and Ravichandran’s stunning visuals and Ayoob Khan’s editing contributed a lot to the movie. The songs are good it syncs really well with the mood of the film.

Dileep comes up with an extraordinary performance after a long time. You can witness the “Janapriya Nayakan” Dileep without any slapstick comedies and clichés. Thanks to the writer Rajesh for giving him a character which made us to witness the “actor” Dileep after a long time. Hareesh Perday comes with a brilliant performance and he needs to be appreciated. Each and every one did their part well.

The tagline of the movie clearly suggests that there is no twists and suspense. So please don’t expect a suspense thriller like Jeethu’s previous flicks Memories and Drishaym or some sort of movies like that. Life of Josutty is a sweet and simple movie that you can enjoy with your friends and family and you will be refreshed after watching the movie
