Lifestyle -bad delivery and poor customer service

We purchased 5 pieces of furniture from lifestyle -> Home Centre on 19/7/09. Out of which 4 were delivered in good condition on 21/7/09. However, the Leslie 3 str sofa was not delivered in good condition. Two pics out of 6 damages on both sides of sofa is attached.


On calling up their supervisor, I was told that they would see how to fix the issues and follow up with me. But I didn’t get any follow up call till now.


I called them up and also wrote mail detailing the problem on 23rd July, a follow up on 3rd Aug, and on Aug 25th, but no reply of mail and no follow up of calls. This is really bad customer service.


I understand that delivery people didn’t have enough equipments like rope etc to deliver the big size piece, and were trying to force-fit the piece into the house, instead of taking measurement to understand method/direction for delivery of piece. It was also casually wrapped in just a layer of bubble wrap, than that of some protection wrapping. In short, I could see professional way of delivering/packing of other pieces, while this one was done very casually. Not sure if the damages happened even before loading the piece for delivery. As a result, it was not delivered in the condition I saw it during selection and made advanced payment for.


I could select another piece for replacement, but out of the displayed pieced, this was the only one I liked. Hence, I requested them to check if they can deliver another good piece of the "same sofa" to me from another store and take the damaged piece back. They told that they’d get back to me, but neither they replied the call or emails.


If also requested if they don’t have other piece of "same sofa", they can check to get this damage fixed? but no response.With no response and poor customer service, I don’t see that as value for money, and I would be paying less if I am keeping the damaged piece.I am really disappointed with this customer service and the delivered piece. And I would recommend everyone to be extra careful if they are making such purchases or avoid buying from there.
