Like It was for Us in Yesterdays

Like It was for Us in Yesterdays

If anyone asks us, what were the memorable part of your life, We will have many things to answer, School days, Board Examination fear, First Crush, First Kiss, First Salary and many more.Among them moment of Childhood are the one remembered to us; even though memory are fading. Like wise, Living in the sub-continent, Most of us had the similar type of Childhood. School days, a day of week off where we used to watch Junior G, Not missing Mahabharata serials and Reciting the every popular advertisement song to sing in its tune. Most of us might have practiced such in Childhood and when we listen/read somebody Childhood, It feels we are flashback in to our own. In his latest book, "Like it Happened Yesterday", Ravinder Singh Writes about similar childhood phase to let you recall your own and to let you feel, "Like it was for us in Yesterdays."

Let me ask you, What were the Best days of your childhood? For me, It was conquering Every Stages of Mario, Upgrading myself to Play contra force, spider man, Playing Chess and defeating many seniors and school days where I had eagerness to have everything.

After the Grand Success of his first book, "I too had a Love Story", Writer had written a Second book, "Can Love Happen twice? " which was not widely appreciated by readers. This time, he has taken a risk by publishing different type of book which was unexpected for me.

When I online ordered this book, Nothing was mentioned about the story content of book in back side of book then I thought this must be some Romance fiction. I felt it should this should be about some of love story that makes us remember even today. When I started reading this book, I felt a bit disappointment in initial stage because it had only childhood mentioned, but along with time, I started enjoying the book to have a memorable flashback of my childhood as if, "Like it was for me in Yesterdays"

plot

Ravinder Singh as( Ravi) writes the book as if it is own story. The Story are simple and it is the which we also have come across. The Cry of first day of schooling where we were left with strangers, The Black and White photo print( which we hardly see only for official purpose these days), Of Course Black and White television where we had seen Mahabharat, Watching of Bollywood movies and Chitrahar DoorDarshan are the one he mentions as early part of his childhood. Even for our childhood, the pain of needles while giving injection, the joy of upgrading from Pencil to Pen in school might have faded, but on some of the time they were like maturing age for us. He also talks about crazy questions regarding’how a child takes birth’ which had given him sleepless night. Those time as a child when owning a bicycle was a matter of privilege and dignity, to perform well in exams were the necessity and pressure from parents and falling in first crush cum love was like reaching cloud nine. It feels amaze how he can write such plot in such a detail way which had happened to a person some 15 years back! Written in Detailed, as nothing looks fictional. He has written every of those moments very neatly and while you go through it, you will understand as if, "Like it was for you in Yesterdays".

My Conclusion

There is no much to expect from the story, no thrilling, no super end, No big heroic work, No such big pain of breaking of hearts, but still, when you read the Story, you will find lots of your childhood in them. There were few incident where I found them not comfortable for me, but It is all about my personal ideology and I cant even ignore I had passed through those phase in my life. And believe me, with every word and with every chapters, you will fall in love. You will find them they had happened not only with writers, but with you and me also. We might think how silly were those days when we kept arguing for our craziness, yet we will realize they were gone moments which we can only recall but shall never come again. And may be you will wish to travel through them once, "Like it was for us in Yesterdays."

A hundred bucks is nothing in this day, so read the book and travel through those moments again which you can only remember.

My rating 3.5 out of 5.
