Don't drink your liquid calories

Yes I used limca .it made me feel refreshed and all perked up, Yes it gives me the illusion of  a "a lime and lemon drink " But now many years later wiser and healthier. I keep telling people don’t drink your liquid calories


Added sugar is public enemy no 1, invites obesity and host of many other diseases .


According to Dr Mark Hyman- drinking liquid calories is  breaking one of  the rules of healthy eating( loosely covers drinking). Why? You will end up eating 300 calories more for a 300 ml drink like limca.


Here is a small question,  its sweet? its seductive and its deadly.guess what.its sugar .


Well if I could influence the government, I feel just like tobacco carries a statutory warning, that this stuff which  contains sugar which could contribute to host of health issues like alzheimer’s, heart disease, cardio vascular disease, cancer  and a lot more if used in excess and should also carry a health warning  label.


If I were you I would instead use natural sweet stuff like smoothies and fruit blends with zero added sugar. If you really must drink Limca, make sure its cut down to ridiculously low amounts or maybe just break the rule once in a month .


There is so much sugar in  the natural stuff all around. Are you guys aware that even milk and vegetables have intrinsic sugar?


Where is  the scope to add more sugar?


The milk sugar is called lactose.table sugar is 1 molecule glucose and 1 molecule fructose . and is also called sucrose  Just good to know information.,


and  the carbs  that you eat get converted to sugar inside  the body .


What we really need is fructose mixed with fruit fibre called whole fruits . Its also ok to use Jaggery as a sweetener and a very occasional glass of Sugarcane clean juice over limca .


In terms of taste and satiating my sweet tooth(here its taste buds) Limca is one of  the best drinks  though not a healthy option .


But if I were you I would maybe use molasses sugar / coconut sugar/ Stevia  than pure refined white sugar in my drinks . I am a human and I get tempted too.


I have a sweet tooth too.but I like my smoothies sweetened with cherries and berries and nuts / seeds and figs and dates  and keep the bottle of Limca away .


Limca.drops of  joy really.?


Lets have some green Tea with some lemon and honey.join me!


Pls note: Like you and everyone else, I love sweetness in my life too .I order jaggery powder, figs, dates, stevia, molasses sugar also called brown sugar  and Maple syrup is also on my radar, all this stuff is available on amazon India .


But my kind of sweetness is not bitter sweet.its not empty calories or -ve calories its healthy calories that does  have some nutritional value too .
