’Lipstick under my Burkha’ is out & out a Director’s film. Credit easily goes to Alankrita Shrivastava, who has earlier directed only one film named, ’Turning 30’. It never looks like, one film old director has captured it in celluloid. Ratna Pathak shah has played the character to be mentioned. Hats off to Prakash Jha, who dared to pick a peculiar subject like this.
The actor of millennium Amitabh Bachhan too appreciate this new era movie.Prakash Jha, who has produced this unique movie, visited Ekta Kapoor for its distribution rights. Ekta, saw the trail & liked it immensely, she snatched this movie from jha, and decided to take the entire world’s distribution rights. Alankrita says, " it is neither a mainstream movie, nor an art movie, but an Independent movie ofcourse." She is very happy that after a long fight with censor board, it has come out, and will be dished out for public viewing.
Now, it is up to cine goers to decide, whether they like it or not. Getting release on 21st July 2017. It is of course a female oriented movie, made by a female director, Alankrita Shrivastava. She confirms that the plot moves around women emancipation. She declares that almost all urban lady would love the plot and the way it is shown. "It is a deep level of discrimination, so I was afraid, if distributors would like it or not. But I can’t help, I make this type of movie only." concludes the directer, with bewitching smile.
