The Silent Winner

Although the LITE ON LTR CD writer isn’t very popular, I must say that it scores above all the rest. With almost no noise and great writing speed, this writer definitely impresses.

I don’t own a computer but my friend has this writer. I have used it and also many others like Samsung and LG, but i’d definitely prefer LITE ON. My experience is on an Intel Celeron 366 MHz machine with 96 MB SD RAM. It took only about 5-6 mins to write a 700MB data CD @ 48x speed. And on an Intel P3 256MB SD RAM machine running Windows XP, it took only 3-4 mins to burn a 700MB data CD @ 48x speed. In both the cases, we were using the Nero Express CD-Burning S/W, which came along with the writer.

So imagine how it would preform on a P4 machine with 128/256 DDR RAM (this is the popular configuration in the market these days). My friend bought it about 4-5 months back in Mumbai. It costed about Rs.3200/- then, so definitely the prices are less now.

Also, the product is very durable(no mechanical breakdowns till now and none in the offing as it’s running as smoothly as it did when it was new). I’m planning to buy a PC soon and I prefer LITE ON LTR as against others if it’s available in Pune where I stay.

Although there aren’t any ad’s of this product, let me bring to your notice the review of LITE ON LTR which was published in Digit Computer Magazine. Many products were pitted against each other and LITE ON scored most points. The tests were conducted on state-of-the-art P4 and AMD Athelon machines. So you can now be sure that u are buying a quality product if u opt for Lite On.

Specifications of the one I worked on:

48x24x48x
