I visited Little Italy in bombay a couple of months back. When I heard they started an outlet in Pune, I wasnt very optimistic about going there. The experience at Bombay wasnt great to think of going again.
I happened to be in the vicinity for lunch today and dropped in. I was surprised with the decor, the seating arrangement, the ambience and the service. It was much much better than the one I got in Bombay.
Its located on the university road, opp e-square and bang next to Pune Central. As soon as you enter, the friendly manager will find a place according to the number of people. We were 2 of us and he got us a small table for two which was not very small nor very big, but enough for 2 of us to eat without the table getting cluttered.
Next came the guy to give the menu and take the order. He ran us through the menu with his recommendations. He however did not emphasise on any particular dish, just recommendations leaving us to choose what we wanted,
we ordered pizzas. I was not really surprised, but it was good to see a pizza looking like a pizza rather than a nan with toppings:-) if you know what I mean.(the ones that u get at pizza hut and dominoes and the others) This one was a thin crust without being too crusty nor too soggy, just right and easy to eat with a fork and knife.
once we were through with the meal, the plates were cleared without disturbance. After checking with us if we needed anything more, the waiter(for want of a better word) went off to get our bill. The manager came to check with us about the food and the service and our suggestions.
The food was good, service excellent, courteous staff and beautiful ambience. Not too heavy on the pocket too.
We left feeling full and lots of happy feelings.
The only negative aspect if there was to be: its purely veg.
I understand they serve excellent wines(not hard liquor), though I cant vouch as I did not try them.
