Had contacted Livspace in Mumbai for kitchen renovation job in Feb 2023. They provided a quotation from a firm( who they call a Livspace partner) who does everything from design to supply & installation. Paid 15%+ GST as booking amount to Livspace, remaining 85% was paid to their contractor. As the work progressed I found that involvement of Livspace was NIL, none of their people even visited the site. When I asked for the Tax invoice for 15% amount paid to Livspace they said invoice will be given by their contractor. I contested this as amount was paid to Livspace and not the contractor. I am yet to receive a proper GST invoice for amount paid to them. I shall complain to the tax authorities if I don’t get the proper invoice from them.
Basically they take away 15% of the project cost as their brokerage fees without doing a single paisa worth of work. The cost quoted by the contractor is jacked up by 15% so that Livspace can have its "commission" which is a huge amount. I felt like a fool having fallen into this trap, I could have given the work directly to the contractor and saved thousands. But I realized it too late. Now I have given extra work to the contractor at 15% lesser cost and saved a substantial amount.
So guys, if you have money to throw around then go for Livspace. Or else, avoid them.
