Disappointing service

We wanted a modular kitchen and were very much lured by their posh showroom. Comparing with the road side kitchen stores it was a no brainer that we give them the contract. We were quite convinced that being a "corporate contractor" they will do a very professional job. The coordinator assigned to us also did a good job convincing that their company works like clockwork with full transparency and indeed the initial quotation did confirm that because every line item expense was quite transparently mentioned there. So we were quite optimistic of a smooth sailing.


But BEWARE. After you paid them the advance, then starts the plethora of problems




  1. The so-called architect could not understand our artistic requirements. We were expecting creative and aesthetically good-looking designs of finishes compatible with our theme. But she did not live up to our expectations. Finally, it was up to us to hunt around for the right kind of finishes




  2. Space utilization wise, the design required some creative thinking. Again, the architect failed miserably, and it was me who came up ideas for optimum space utilization in terms of what unit goes where.






But this is just the beginning of problems.




  1. After freezing the design, when the final quotation came it was a shocker. The civil work was twice of what was quote initially. Everything was just doubled. When you question it, they sometimes have NO ANSWER and other times some BS explanation. The standard answer is, these are standard prices in our system and we can’t do anything about it. So now I have to get my own cheaper contractor for civil work but went with Livspace for modular kitchen cabinets.




  2. One of the biggest problem was the complete lack of accessibility and proactiveness by their coordinator and in general their staff. I had to chase them multiple times to get anything done. Result is huge delays in getting the work started. It takes many many days for design, quotation payment etc. If you are working with a strict timeline, you can kiss that a good bye as it is a guarantee they will not meet it. Their whole process is slower than the worst red tape you have ever seen in a government office. It was beyond frustrating.




  3. After the work started in their factory it took more than 2 months to deliver(although that is something that was communicated to us before hand)




  4. When the units were delivered, the execution team that came for installation was equally bad. Parts were missing or wrong size. You had to be on top of them to ensure they don’t mess up something. And in spite of this they did mess up positioning of one of the units causing significant rework. The junior people on site wait for instructions from seniors and seniors handle 10 projects at a time and are never available.






The only saving grace of the quality of the units themselves. Well, we just started using them so will have to wait and see how it goes.


In summary, they deceptively lure you in and then show their true colors. An unnecessarily complicated and slow process to get work done and inefficient staff in all departments - creativity and project execution.


I would not recommend Livspace to anybody.
