Extremely poorly planned & uncoordinated

For us, the expectation with an organisation like Livspace was that some qualified and experienced professionals will manage the whole project in a way that individual interior designers cant. Couldn’t have been more mistaken with that.


Started with a poor designer(Abrar Faisal) with a handful of pet design ideas, beyond which he had nothing to offer. We lost a month trying to get him to design our home and then escalated the matter to have the designer changed.


Thankfully the new designer(Shirali Maher) was up to the task and helped design our home to our liking within a reasonable time.


We confirmed the designs and paid the advance for commencement of production of wardrobes etc. in the first week of February, 2019(Feb 4 to be precise) on the promise that the production would be complete in 45-60 days and installation would get done in about 10 days after that.


The electrical/plumbing/civil changes required to be undertaken prior to installation was NOT EVEN STARTED at any time in this 60 days’ period. Squarely blame the project "manager" Uma Kari for this monumental miss. If this is not CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE, I don’t know what is.


AFTER all the wardrobes were prepared and ready for installation, our approval for the electrical/ plumbing work was sought(First week of April). For TWO FULL WEEKS after giving the go ahead for the electrical/plumbing work, the work was not even started. 4 weeks after giving the approval, we are still waiting for the work to be completed. How a seemingly "professional" organisation takes over 30 DAYS to shift a few electrical/ plumbing points is a bloody mystery to me.


And this, despite the bomb that Livspace charges for everything. When you pay for premium services you expect quality and timeliness. Quality, I am yet to see, but on timing Livspace is pathetic. Not recommended unless you have a year to kill before you move into your ready-to-move-into apartment.


Started engaging with Livspace in November, 2018. We’re now in May, 2019 and I’m still running from "supervisor" to "installation manager" to "project manager" to understand why and where there are still delays and by when we can expect the work to be completed.


Escalations within the organisation seem to have no observable impact on timelines. Even after escalation, the project managers are only remote managing the project. No site visits. No idea of what is happening on the ground. Merely going by the supervisor’s version.


I guess there’s enough work coming their way for them to not give a damn about project timelines/ customer feedback. Sorry state of affairs.


CONCLUSION


I would sum up Livspace as a brilliant concept, poorly implemented because the company has no team of its own, depends on external vendors for every single thing. What’s worse is that Livspace does not seem to have any command on these external vendors either.


They’re just a bunch of headless chicken with no defined idea of how to go about implementing a project. Only a theoretically good concept to boast of. The interior designing equivalent of Arvind Kejriwal, I would think
