Stay away from LOC

Hi Everyone: This is going to be my first review on MS. I welcome your feedback, be it positive, or negative.

I love my country and I’m grateful to the brave soldiers, who fought against the intruders in the Kargil war. And that’s why I completely hated this movie, because this movie makes fun of those brave souls instead of glorifying them.

Flaws of this movie:

Poor acting: None of the actors were impressive, especially Abhishek, Saif. Abhishek completely marred the image of Vikram Batra with his stupid grin, vacant look and emotionless “Yeh Dil Mage More”. He is awful. Same about Saif, never seems like a serious soldier, completely ruins the image of brave cpt Nayyar. Ashutosh Rana and Manoj bajpai were equally worse, never could express the seriousness of the war. Other actors were redundant, have only a few words.

  1. Poor Camerawork: Awful camerawork, for a war movie the camera work is the key, which will keep the viewers taut. Seems like some immature photographer is making a school project.

  2. Poor script: The same script is repeated again and again. Watch one soldier fight and die and you know the rest. Everybody uses same words, same expression, same abuse, same dreaming about their better halves and then die. What a wastage of resource.

  3. Poor Action: Soldier kills 10 pakis, gets shot, still kills 10 more, abuses, runs towards pakis to kill with bayonets, dreams of sweethearts and dies. Pakis are the dumbest people in the world; they just stand there to die after getting shot only once. Mindless joke.

  4. Poor Direction: What is need of all those chicks and the songs and showing the love life of each individual again and again? Songs are no good too. There is no suspense in this movie, you never feel like you are actually watching a war movie. The director just wanted to put a commercial wrapper by showing 10 odd actresses in a movie to make a fortune, unfortunately that killed the movie.

  5. Other miscellaneous points:

Tool long, 4 odd hours, this movie has material for 1 hour max.

b. Poor casting. Excepting Ajay Devgan none looks like a soldier. The officers look completely out of place. They are better of making movies where they can run around trees.

c. What about all the swearing? Especially about durga, kali etc. Didn’t know Indian army just hires Hindu soldiers. Lot to learn from great J.P.

There is no positive point for this movie. I would strongly suggest, stay away from this movie, save your hard-earned pittance.
