J P DUTTA is back with his emotional gimmicks and exploiatation of national emotional sentiments.... I am not at all biased, even I defend border against which reviewers were speaking because I liked the emotional track of pooja bhatt, song sandaisey and the end message of the film (irrespective of wrong pak-bashing) but sorry I cant say yes for another pot boiler propegenda film....
why should I ???? even if there are far better and suopebly well made films like MUnna bhai mbbs are there to choose from.... whats the need of this film of pak-bashing and commercially selling teh sacrifices of soldiers , in these days of struggling and efforts of bringing peace between pakistan and india...???
it is not difficult to cast two dozen super stars, showing the real incidents on big screen without much brain and aisthetic sense applied and using weapons, guns, full blast sounds, showing original locations and made a garma garam propegenda pot bolier.... also it is not difficult (i am talking about KAL HO NA HO) to cast super stars liek srk, pretty, saif, jaya bachchan... steal scenes and scripts from many films like rules, boom, and anand etc ... using MTV stunt style, using 5 stars as ’’guest appearances’’ using the tried and tested and now sick and tired sweetuuu story, too sweet gestures and candy floss screenplay like kkhh, dtph and k3g and make a stupid and illogical pot boiler which could be good as a pure comedy, but to add SRK’s forced DUKH BAHRI beemaree and maut, it seemed just ridiculous... what is really difficult is to cast only one star (sunjay dutt) and make the film sooooooooo interesting and superb only by able script, clever screen paly, superb presenation and slik direction (Munan bhai mbbs) which also gives clear and heart touching message of humanity without being dry, bore and being in an out n out comic film it is more difficult, but superb director raj kumar herani make it possible...
anyhow back to LOC..... there was no script, no clever screen play was involved, director’s own brain and effort is invisible ...... performances are quite good but not as good as sunjay in munna bhai, urmila in bhoot, pinjar and shabana in tehzeeb.....
music is so so , and overall presentation and impression of the film is not upto is heavy budget and larger then life image.
