I am daily passenger of Western Railway. I travel by Goregaon local which is at 8.26 a.m. at Dadar station. This train goes at platform no.5 at Goregaon station. When I am reaching at Goregaon station everyday I come across few things which I think that Railway department should know or may be they must be knowing and if not, then they should take action against this.
There are small huts beside this platform and people living in these huts thinks that these platform no.4 & 5 are constructed as a house for them. They sleep, smoke, drink, throws garbage and many more things are done by them everyday.
The whole platform has become so dirty that it is very difficult for all passengers to wait for train to arrive on that platform. Railways are always sticking posters inside train about "NO SMOKING" and what about on the platform. Moreover all the seats which are constructed for passengers to sit while awaiting for train are also occupied by these people.
Even I have seen once the lady employed by railway for sweeping platforms is also not conducting her job properly. She sweeps the
platform and throws all garbage on tracks. I dont understand that if
she is so much bored of doing her job then why she is doing? She should
give her resignation so that railways can appoint some other people who
will perform there work properly. This whole platform has become a
mess. I cant understand one thing that this all things happen everyday.
Those people living in huts sleeps, smokes there everyday, then still
why railways are not taking any action against them? Why they are
neglecting their job? Is the person incharge of station not responsible
in looking after this matter? Or are they just happy that they have got
government jobs and now they are free to relax throught their life till
retirement. I can remember only once when our railway minister Mr. Lalu
Prasad Yadav had visited Mumbai, at that time this platform was cleaned
for showing him how properly we do our duty. But after that again the
whole platform is occuped by those zopadpatti people. I think railway
should consider this matter.
