Platform kramank 2

Trains are a part of my life and for that matter part of most of the mumbaites. Right from the day I joined college, till now I am traveling in train. What a feeling! If you are prepared for it and know it all in advance you will have a nice time. Those who are new are often irritated but who knows well and how to tackle things it?s a pleasure.

So we start the journey. Since I travel in ladies I will narrate a journey in ladies compartment.

?Platform kramank do par aanewali local mumbai chhatrapti shivaji terminus jaanewali dheemi local hai?, which means ? train arriving on platform number 2 is slow local for Mumbai Chhattrapati shivaji terminus. That?s what I hear everyday. At fast there is a lot of crowd, you can see a bunch of worms from over the bridge. So looking at that bunch I go to slow. But both the trains have similar situations. I wait for the train and see it coming and have another ladies too crowding up and making faces at each other just in case anyone tries to go ahead of another.

Then I try to move in but one lady goes in, the second pushes me, the third is a real fat one. 4th is one with vegetables, 5th stinks and so on. Now you must be thinking whats my number. I get in exactly between the 3rd and the 4th. Uhhh I mean my lower part goes in between the 3rd and 4th but upper part with my handbag etc goes in after 4th. Then I am happy I got in. wow? I try to push in but no effect, people behind me pushes and I am a sandwich. Then somehow I manage to go in (after being stamped, punched and pressed etc - take the right meaning) where all the seats are packed in and all standing between the seats. Some 2 ladies fighting over stamping and other 2 for seats. I look for the 4th seat somewhere but alas no one seems to get down.

Disappointing I stand there. There comes the clip seller and bangle seller shouting (le pina le pina) didn?t get it? It means pin (safety pin, hair pin) and everyone gives a weird look, she tries to push all and get in and every time she moves the 4th seaters are affected.

I hear a lady say ?shift shift? to the 3rd seater and the one on 3rd seat says (kahan jaun) where do I go. Ha ha ha. That?s the best part and hey I am sure they say rest of the dialouge which is something weird in their mind?

Some really vulgar statements I want to share but it doesn?t sound good. But I enjoy a fight, which is full of bad words. First I used to get irritated with it but now I simply smile because its expected.

Then I landed up sitting on 4th seat and another lady also attempted? oh she landed up on my lap and I gave her a bad look. The rest of the journey I heard something unpleasing to the ear. Then for your entertainment we have ?The great band?. You can hear hit numbers of bollywood like ?tum to thehare pardesi?, ?teri chunariya dil le gayi? ’’tum dilki dhadkan mein’’ etc etc which I enjoy ofcourse. They earn well no doubt about it.

You also have some plane travelers in the tarin who by mistake boarded the train instead of plane, never mind! They just say something or the other to themselves like ?oh shit?, ?what is this?, ?disgusting? etc etc. they want everyone to know that they had a plane ticket but somehow travel by train. They get bruised by a touch, they feel hot, they get stamped and don?t like too much noise in the train. I suggest next time they travel in train. (I have adviced some of them) somehow I reached where I had to and easily got down as people pushed me down (that?s advanced technology ? no efforts to get down)

All this was somehow common that you find in train.

Some special features:

Some Bandar ka khel wale people (people with monkeys)

More of bands singing and now dancing too ? don?t underestimate, they dance real well.

you must have seen common vendors like clips, pins, bangles, ear-rings but traditional ghagra choli! Yes now we have even readymade dresses that too ethnic wear wow!

So who said its bad to travel- you get entertainment, shopping, speaking skills, verbosity (unheard bad words), overall public speaking and effective one indeed, exercise? more to come in future.

I have too many experiences also like tearing of dress, missing chunni (scarf), wallet gone and others?. but will have a separate review on that.
