Dr. Singh’s name came in the list of prime minister in the mind of Mrs. Sonia Gandhi as she felt it very safe Manomohan Singh as Prime Minister for the two major reasons:
1. He is very simple, economist, very loyal and late comer in politics and at the same time, it would be a very nice opportunity to compensate the punjabis’ sentiment wounded during 1984 Sikh Riot in the event of Mrs. Indira Gandhi, the then Prime Minister’s assassination .
2. Since Dr. singh is comparatively much junior amongst other congress leaders, it would be easier for Mrs. Gandhi to steer Manomohan Singh easily rather than other senior leaders like Pranab Mukherjee, and others.
UPA government’s main largest single party is congress running the government with coalition of other like minded parties and with outside support of left parties of which largest number of left MP.s were elected (?) from West Bengal where left front gevernment has been ruling for more than 27 years continously.
If we examine the performance of congress party in central government for about last 45 years , the rating can not prove as an efficient party and government in respect of overall progress. Similarly. in West Bengal being ruled by the left front government for more than 27 years does not have any thing to prove its efficiency as a simple good gvernment in the interest of general public in all fields.
The initiation of correct steps to solve the kashmir dispute and thereby a cordial relation with Pakistan , emphasis and implementation of infrastructural development , GDP’s highr rate 8.4, lower rate of inflation , implementation of disinvestment etc. were out of congress leaders’ minds. In summary, their (Congress leaders) ability and attitude both wrer very poor and negetive.Recenly, they are simply following their predecessor government ( NDA) just changing some names and forms.Of course Narasigh Rao initiated the economic reforms with Dr. Singh.
Similarly, the position of West Bengal in the field of industry, education, health, rural development including electricity, implementation of central gpvernment’s various programmes for the poor and below povert line (BPL), etc have come down to a third grade line from the top grades which were before left front government took over. The question may arise how they (left wing) became elected?
The answer is very simple -- there is no environment for fair election (also reported by electon commission observers) and only mafia and antisocial elements are mainly deputed by the left front’s largest party to win the election of left nominated members. They do’nt have any wise policy for poeple’s progress. They are hypocrite in all activities of politics. They are followig NDA and BJP’s many policies , but arguing always against NDA and BJP.
So. how can we expect something better progress from the UPA government composed of 5 to 6 criminally charsheeted ministers and minister like Natabar Singh, Shivraj Patil, Arjun Singh and others?
They are making poeple fool in disguise.
