I dont understand on what basis the opponenets have raised the antagonism for the new bill for the quota system? I favour this bill & I wonder at the callous attitude that we have for our own countrymen/folks n kins.
Do u know that the SC/ST reservation bill was passed in parliament when we as a nation were not even counted developing.This bill was passed for a temporary time to uplift the downtrodden & there was no timeline set for the validation of this bill (no end period was set in written in constituion or any other document but it did not mean eternity).Till date there has been no amendment or aboilshment of this rule. why? bcz no ruling party wants to taint n loose their votes. call it --"KISSA KURSI ka"
Of course we understand that the new OBC bill was proposed but with the declaration that it would be implemented from the next session. A political maneoeuvr-a tactic to gather votes--yes but the changes whenever made would deifinitely benefit several needful candidates.
If SC/ST get the benefit then why not OBcs too? ever wondered who they are? well the list goes endless from(julahas, lakadharas etc)to many more.By any chance if u happen to see the form u will come across the fact that OBCs are those whose (maximum)family annual income is not more than 1lac which compared to general is not even half of their figures.Compare your family income with this OBC limit & u may probably get some idea of their plight.See the truth urself.plz dnt forget to realise that there are few families which have just one kid.so add the kins & check annual income & imagine how they support their family?
Ok we have GENERAL/SC/ST.What about other quotas?
The NRI quota--for SUPER DUPER RICH people who can buy what they want/management quota who advertise in newspapers for the sale/auction of seats on first come first serve basis+money in lacs/extra-curricular activities quota /then reservations for disabled army personnals n their kins/widows/divorced/physically challenged/we even have reservation for EX-students of same instituition from previous years who get seat in higher courses despite scoring lower than the minimum required marks.So who is left?Probably only the OBCs.WHY? Then how bogus is the claim that we are getting the "CREAM" from all the instituions n jobs etc which this new reservation would marr? Really? look at all the reservations & candidates that come from different means. Are we having the"cream"?
If we understand that sports/ extra curricular activities/ NCC/NSS etc students should be given relaxation bcz they have to excel/practice-so lesser study/classes/so lesser marks n therefore given the relaxation then why dont we understand the simple fact that OBCs bcz of their low income strata cant perform with the vigour & lack means that GEN have.Ever noticed the luxury & privilege of general category getting HOME TUTORS at their beck n call..n the downtroddens working part time along with studies to support their families n themselves--leave aside the right to access information.Give them the same money & updation I bet that they would beat this general category "IQ" myth.

OBC 27% (If ever the bill is implemented)
general 40%
which means even after the reservation general categories get the highest no. of seats to compete against. Then why are We scared? Do we mean that 40% is not enough as there are many incomptents who would not be admitted in the 40%.I think GEN have got their share of the pie.NO? OK! here GOVT comes to the AID.As per TIMES OF INDIA dated 31.07.2006, page 11, we have now 54% increment in seat allocation for the general category in IIMS, IITs etc+to support that sanction of Rs500cr. What else do We want ?
I remeber when this issue was damn hot ..there were statements from the head of various instituitions like IITs/D.U. etc that give these SC/St n even OBCs seats. As they are not comeptent enough they cant cope with the tough courses n they fail at the end of the first year itself. Yes! well does it not happen with those who buy the seats under NRI etc or even the general category? So whosoever fails--be it GEn/SC/St/OBc--is nt comptent & I think examination is the best judge of the merit and competency level, eliminating the crap from the cream.
Many people have drawn baseless parallels saying that why not reserve the seats in cricket, games etc...would u mind to review that there are no seat reservations for even SC/St there?
Its one criteria which is fitness n performance. Similarly why not provide the OBC/SC/ST with seats n let examination be the judge to decide who fits what rather than proclaiming the arbitrary judgements.
Why does the GOVT n people not pay attention to the ongoing fraud & misuse of the SC/St categories? Higher castes get converted. remeber the case Medical Supritendent head AIIMS was adopted by a ST father n several other frauds... I think the strict vigilance should be over the Misuse of reservation system rather than right implementation. Stop these conversion via cross-marriage, adoption and other fraudulent means... rather than going ga ga over right things.

Did u know that the JATS earlier considered themselves so elite n upper class that even the brahimans seemed inferior to them & now just to get the advantage of OBC- JATS have been added to OBCs list despite the fact that they have lots of zamins/ zayadads. Why does GOVt let such things happen? Welcome to "la la land". we are Indians! we never raise a hue & cry over the wrong things rather we draw vague parallels against the rightful things!!
Remember after Independence we had several planning comissions.First 5 years-for agriculture then next 5years on industry etc etc... why ? why did we change the priorities? Bcz to Grow & make the nation stabilized we need to take care of all the sectors & arenas of life. you cant leave the downtrodden people behind & become advanced/developed. we need different strategies & methods to give them a chance, to bring those to the fore who have the talent but no platform/means to excel.
To become developed from developing we need to nurture the unprivileged buds too.We need to accept the rightful changes required for growth and developemnt.we cant leave 1 section of country behind & Grow.
