Prem is Back

OK.. so stage is big, and its called Wembley. Then there’s is a bit of "Shaka Laka Boom Boom" inspired Arjun (Ajay Devgn), a bit of Indian-Pakistani Bhaichara in form of Zoheb (Rannvijay Singh) and Wasim (Aditya Roy Kapoor), a bit of one heroine two heroes triangle in form of Priya (Asin) and then there’s a big dream - to perform in Wembley, where once Arjun’s grandfather failed. Quite expected but then there’s a performance, the only performance which stands till the end of the movie in my mind, and that is our Prem yaar!, the good old Prem of Maine Pyar Kiya, only with the name of Mannu, played brilliantly by Salman Khan. Salman Khan is again back with the same style using which he becomes the youth’s superstar during Maine Pyar Kiya, Baaghi type of movies.

London Dreams directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who directed Amitabh-Akshay starrer Aankhein, Waqt and Akshay-Rishi starrer Namastey London. But this time he did miss something. Although movie has everything, the big banner, the big starcast and the big mass appeal, but somewhere something’s missed. Its still a one-time watch, listen to Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy’s music, this time they’re different and comes with a fast kind of Band music (Rock On was totally rock music). Ajay Devgn in -ve role performed very well, as an aspired musician-cum-singer and he gets the help from two Pakistani brothers Rannvijay and Aditya. But then he invites Mannu (Salman), the band master from our same old Punjab, and he has talent but no passion, and soon he becomes the bigger star than Ajay. And then the bad game starts to remove Mannu from the band, planned everything by Ajay himself.

Let’s talk about some reality factor. Some scenes looks unreal, like Ajay’s first performance in front of London crowd, where suddenly he was joined by the Pakistani brothers, no-one is playing the music, but everybody’s is listening it. Ajay’s running attempt in London when he reaches their for the first time, just like he knows everything, and here and there some scenes looks broken up. Also, the climax’s last song is bit odd which only increases the length of climax and feels repeated. Asin has to still work on some rona-dhona kind of stuff.

But then there are certain good points, Ajay’s negative performance is brilliant, actually he fits in every role, be it the comedian of All The Best, be it sachcha and imaandar Police Inspector of Gangajal or be it the negative thinking friend of Mannu in London Dreams. Rannvijay is still in process of learning some acting, but he is much better than some other lead heroes like Adhyyan. And I dont need to tell about Salman Khan, because he is the star of the movie, his acting, his dialogue delivery is superb. His role was of a band master who doen’t take anything seriously in his life be it music or love. The performance just before the interval is awesome, the performance on the hit song "Barso Yaaron". Even the climax scene of verbally abusing Salman from Ajay for stealing his dream is great (just the climax gets elongated that’s it!). Background music is fast and suits well to the sene. But some scenes doesn’t gel well with the music.

Well there are many things to share, but its getting late for me, I had to go to sleep, so just finishing my review here. My take, see it for once for the friendship between Ajay and Salman, and for Salman..
