Yaari bina he besuri, besuri zindagi

"ye duniya jab le ke tarazu

tera tol ke bhaav bataye

yaar kahe aa seene se lag ja

duniya bhaad mein jaaye

do kahaan hai

ek hi hai

yaari mein do

hote he nahi

us ko kaato

dard is ko

yaari mein do

hote he nahi

kache gud si yaari yaari

meethe paani se pyaari

to aaja jashn mana le

yaara ve

yaar ko gale laga le

dil ke andhero ko

wo tatole

man ko bilote

matka le khole

*yaara yaari bina hai

besuri meri zindagi

yaara yaari bina hai

besuri hai besuri besuri zingadi

yaari bina hai besuri

hai besuri besuri zingadi**"

That is the song in the movie London Dreams and the life of Ajay Devgn aka apna Arjun turns out to be the lines I have bolded above after he realises his huge mistake - in trying to be the only best he cheats and makes his best friend fail and in this process he fails himself.

The childhood friends Arjun(Ajay Devgn) and Mannu(Salman Khan) living in punjab want to become a "pop star" and "remain a child always(never want to grow up)" respectively. Both infact are inline with their plans. Remaining a child does help Mannu to be a clean hearted person while Arjun grows in the "It’s a dog eat dog world" and develops the heart that is ready to do anything to achieve the ultimate goal of performing at world’s largest stadium for concerts Wembley.

Arjun is almost at the verge of reaching his goal and by his sheer bad luck lands in India to meet his best friend and the dost ki haaalaath dekh kar decides to take him to London so that he can be with him. During the first major performance Arjun takes help of Mannu to save the band and Mannu not just saves the band but becomes the favourite of the crowd.

Jealousy creeps in between yaari and when Mannu woos his secret love Priya(aka chennai express Asin) jealousy reaches its height and yaari is threatened and Arjun vows to destroy Mannu. None can change the destiny:) I am not the believer in this but in any case as it is a movie it sounds good:D

I wouldn’t categorize this movie as musical, this movie I would categorize as drama. Had Vipul changed the screenplay a bit and made this as musical instead of this a drama he would have easily made this movie a blockbuster. He has to be content with just a hit tag for this movie but he was successful in making this movie a great movie for sure.

There are some top notch moments in this movie - the picturization of songs in stadiums is just wow. be it at Paris, Rome and at Wembley.

The casting is the best part of this movie - these two artists when they come together they create magic. When they are together on the stage or in the fields of punjab or on the roads of village on motorbike they look just superb. Vipul won this match here.

Performances - Ajay as Arjun lived his movie he is superb and there is no villain in him but just the grey shade(dil ka abhee bhi acha hai banda) as he belts himself when ever he tries to deceive his best friend. Ajay deserves an award for his excellent performance, his style, his body language is just wow and suits the role to perfection. Salman as Mannu delivers one more knock out performance post Wanted, his role could have been better. Also Salman miyan should watch the fat on his face as he seems to be getting older quick these days. Not sure if it is the long hair ka jaadu but he looked bad in some of the scenes. Over all Salman could have performed better. Asin was just wow, she seemed to have lost some weight(I did not see ghajini but seen her in some telugue movie some time back), which is working fine for her looks. rest of the cast did their job well.

Screenplay: The screenplay was written to make this film look like a class film rather than a mass film. This was a mistake as far as making this movie a huge success. You still never know the movie could still be a huge success as I am seeing great reports from my friends who have watched this movie. Had they changed the screenplay of this movie to make his movie a mass type musical movie this movie could have for sure been a blockbuster hit.

Direction: was great. the best directed movie of Vipul till date. Vipul has this habit of making the movie look patchy. overall in this movie he reduced that patchiness a bit.

The production values and cinematography of this movie is very high quality, bollywood movies these days are very high on production values and cinematography they beat hollywood movies in this department these days.

Music fitted fine for the screenplay. the sons placement was wrong too many songs happen in first half?

iss saal tho daedo bhai Salman bhai ko eak filmfare for best actor. bechara he has been giving killer performances every time, ab kab milega yaar oh bechara is getting older and ab uskae fans(jaisae ki hum) bhee old ho jaarahae hai. hopefully iss janam mae ek filmfare miljaaye salman bhai ko:D

(4 out of 5 stars) - and I vow to watch any movie where this combo of Ajay and Salman is casted - Mazaaa agaya dekh kar innki YAARI

Warning: I believe this movie cannot be watched with kids as there are many scenes of drug abuse in detail and also some adults only sequences.
