Deposit Claims - a long ordeal

I quit the BPL network due to lack luster service from their toll free 800 number. Called them on 4 occasions in 14 days to get their new schemes, either by post, courier, or email. Couldn’t manage that. So I headed for one of their over-rated BPL galleries and what transpired is below.

Dec 16th, I gave in writing my reasons for quitting and handed in my SIM card and was told that my outstanding bill of 570.78 Rs will be collected against my 2000 Rs deposit and the balance of 1429.22 Rs will be sent to my residence by draft. Dec’s bill came as expected. Then came January 2003 bill of another 595 Rs. And I got a reminder that my dues should be paid immediately.

I can’t understand how they charge me for services, long after I have returned the SIM card. So here I am sitting and wondering how long BPL is going to keep charging me. (probably till my 2000 rs is all used up) Then since they owe me nothing in the first place, we will part.

But no, I already visited the gallery one more time since I got my jan bill. The manager there, a fine gentleman, requested me to rejoin. But frankly how can I continue to do business with people who would not return a small deposit. Needless to say that nobody in their customer services department replied to 2 mails I sent them in enquiry of what is going on.

I am not sure, if they will and if so when. But here I am typing this review out so that if anybody is convinced to use another operator then so be it. And if anyone still does so, then be prepared to forfeit your deposit coz I will be there to say, ’’I told you so....’’
