~~~Looters and the loot~~~
Age shows; so is the films get released late.   When people watch a movie they not only watch it but connect things as well. Suppose a super rich man uses Nokia 3310 today in a movie any child will know that the rich man is very poor. Knowingly or unknowingly, each frame leaves a part of time which is been shot.   Then, there are films which can outstand time. Loot however is not belongs to that brilliant category and it shows time!
Two idiot looters, one muscleman and a young lad fly to Pattaya, Thailand to do a robbery.   The stake is big so much so that once they do this they don’t have to do any other robbery thereafter, they were told.   The four succeeds in entering the house and manages to tie down the owner but later only they come to know that they entered a wrong house.   They were asked to loot what is possible and escape. They did so, without knowing that there had traps.
The story had potential in the hands of a good screenplay writer.   However, the screenplay doesn’t have enough situations to create enthusiasm and to make the film lively. (The same old story which we are telling every week.)   Dialogues are however good and generates some funny moments though not great.   Then, as told in the introduction, the time shows!   We can see villains using the old tape recorder cassette played everywhere and old models of Nokia in the hands of people who talk crores and crores and more.   The climax was so easy which is not done either for a comedy movie or for an action movie. When the expectations on the heroes and villains dies so fast the fate of the film is been sealed.
Action by Allan Amin is excellent at times and ordinary at other places.
One problem with the film is that we cannot identify who is the hero of the film nor don’t know who is the heroine. The fact is that there is no single hero and there is no heroine in the movie.   Suneil Shetty is impressive in the role of the macho builder.   Govinda tries his best to impress but the character didn’t support and he just finish the work as average.   Javeed Jaffery did his normal role without any trouble.   Mahaakshay Chakraborthy is good looking in the movie but a romantic angle is missing in the movie for him.   Mika Singh does a side role as a petty thief and is good for a beginner.   Shweta Bhardwaj & Kim Sharma did the glam doll roles ok.   Mahesh Manjrekar did the best of acting in the film but the character’s affect was undone in the weak climax.
Cinematography gives a mixed feel. At some places it is excellent, some times ok and some places very weak.
Songs are ok and Choreography is ordinary but good.
Overall, Loot is a bit stale product. It may be ok to watch just to spend some time if you don’t have another choice, but don’t expect anything big from it.
