Lost is a series par excellence. It totally deserves the emmies it has won. Its very sad that in India the series that do well or in other words are popular are the very saucy ones like desparte Housewives/Sex and the city or the humor based ones like Friends/Everybody loves raymond. I am not saying that there is anything wrong with Desperate housewives or friends. These are great serials but the more serious but brilliant kind of serials like 24, Alias & Lost have failed to strike a cord with most of the english programme viewing Indians. We do not even attempt to view this genre and believe me if u have not seen Lost u have missed out on something.
The plot begins in a simple manner about an aircrash with about 40 odd survivors who are stranded on an unidentified island in the pacific. After the initial shock of the crash the passengers start sensing that there is something very mysterious about the island. Strange things start happening with and the mystery deepens when one by one the past of each one of the survivors is revealed & it becomes quite apparent that all of them are linked by a mysterious number that has brought them to this island.
The plot of the series is extremly gripping. The way the mystery builds up in each episode makes this very addictive. Despite there being no ghosts or supernatural involvement in the series it is very dark & scary. I have finished watching the first season of Lost and am desperately waiting for Season 2. I suggest that if anyone wants to start watching it now (after missing the first 4-5 episodes) then u can catch the recap of each episode on the website of Lost which u can trace through google.
