Love actually is all around is the theme of the film - Love Actually. And it sure is. We just need to be a little more receptive in life to feel it. Love doesnt necessarily mean just between a man and a woman. It could be love between siblings, between mother and a child or just between friends.
But the complications in life come about only when we talk about love between a man and a woman. Be it difficulty in expressing love or communicating with ones loved one; or still loving someone you have been in love with for decades and have a family with.
The film deals with eight such love stories at the same given point in time. Although some of the stories are interconnected with one another - they are pretty much individual.
The film also boasts a great ensemble of stars - Hugh Grant to Emma Thompson to many many more.
Like the director said in one of his interviews - eight of my films are made into one. Not that he needed to. Each one could have held on by itself as a full length feature film. But the fact that he has interspersed so many stories into one narrative and yet given each one of them equal importance - it makes for great viewing. You actually look forward to seeing each love story and what is going to happen next.
With Hugh Grant in the cast and of course the writer-director being the one who has previously written films like Notting Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral - the jokes are aplenty in the film.
A must see for everyone who is in love or wants to fall in love. An emotion which we all enjoy at all ages in life.
