Lucifer Movie Review: Best Political Drama

Lucifier which is one of the popular Political masala movies written by Murali Gopi and directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran will have you leave with giving away your own public taste of it. The story line is based around characters that are clearly inspired from real-life national political figures.

In the context of actors playing roles, it has veteran Malayalam cinema Actor Mohanlal fine-tuned with Vivek Oberoi’s Malayalam debut. The baseline of the story is surrounded by killing of a political veteran and the most common impending political tug-of-war that forms the story line for most of the political Indian Drama. It then encompasses the unexpected departure of PK Ramdas who is prominent person of IUF political party that in turn leaves behind baggage of many things.

It also shows how Stephen Nedumbully who keeps a low-profile is surrounded by a network of complexities that comes out when the opponents are plotting against him. Nedumbully, at some point of the movie seeks help from Russian underworld kingpin, Zayed Masood played by Prithviraj himself and the director’s role was kind of a surprise revealed only two days prior to the movie’s release. Vivek Oberoi also dawns the role by handling Bobby aka Bimal Nair who is a don and is seen to transition speaking Hindi-coated Malayalam.

Someone who is seen to carry signs and symptoms of a foreign-bred political heir, is Tovino Thomas played by Jathin who gels to the way things are done in India once he is passed over the legacy.

The director’s maiden work is bound to influence you deep in terms of the politics running throughout the entire movie. It is truly a fine balance between mass and masala entertainment. The film is been scripted to the top notch by Murali Gopy and is a definite tailor-made political thriller.
