Unfortunately the product recommendation section in mouthshut is provided with "yes" and "no" only and so that’s why I want to add something to it in the review section and now the suggestion is "avoid it if you can guess at least a little".
from the promos and stuff, the plot is highly visible. movie is about strivers and longers who wish to make it big in the movie industry. what adds some flavor to the movie is the real face revealings and strategies(not anything brainstorming or very clever) which the strivers use to make it to the front row.that’s all.rest of the movie is highly predictable and not much variety is put in the presentation also.
once again unfortunately the earlier performances and image of konkana sen sharma creates a perception and realization in us that "this girl’s going to be screwed at last".Farhan Akhtar is just "okay" in the movie.
other cast
First of all, a great appreciation for Hrithik Roshan for portraying such a "gray heartthrobe" role. Not many actors do have the willingness to play that. variety!
Rishi Kapoor, Dimple kapadia, Juhi chawla and Saurabh shukla never fall of expectations and play their roles clean. After all it’s been so long that they have been here. I feel sorry for Sanjay Kapoor just cos of his good performance in this film. Had he presented or played these kinds of roles earlier, he would have reached somewhere in the industry now. Isha shervani can be quoted "good"
Summary
the movie is totally predictable, but if you are a die hard fan of anyone of these(abi bachan, srk, aamir khan, john abraham, vivek oberoi(when will this man get another break?), akshay khanna, kareena, ranbir kapoor etc) and seeing them on screen makes you ecstatic then go for this movie.though not a boring or bad one, there’s nothing which can be called veryspecial in this movie except showing real faces in the film industry(which may bring smiles sometimes).It has some small extracted elements from movies like page3 also. so in summary, Luck by Chance is a good time pass and not a big entertainer!
