Farhan Akhtar returns to the big screen after some time and sadly his return didnt make as big a splash as one would expect. Story of this film revolves around a group of inmates who find solace in music. They form a band together in the prison, hence the nameLucknow Central. Though they seem to have different personalities, when it comes to music they are all able to find a common ground. Though the story is quite different, the slow pace of the film turned the whole experience into a boring one.
In lead roles, Farhan Akhtar, Rajesh Sharma, Diana Penty and Deepak Dobriyal have all done a top-notch work. Apart from being believable in their respective roles, they have all carried the film on their shoulders. But the shortcoming the writing makes their acting fall short too.
The music was not at all great. Personally, I didnt feel like any song was groovy or worth listening to. Though the prison scenes look quite authentic, the whole film just falls flat and feels a bit bland.
Give it a miss if you have anything better to do than to invest money and time in this bland film.
