Great Indian Movies-Lucky

LUCKY-No Time For Love is a watchable entertainer with superb music, efffective performances, commendable direction .

In terms of a story the film revolves around a 17 yearold schoolgirl Lucky(Sneha Ullal) who is on her way to a important exam for which she hasn’t prepared for.Although she lives in St Petersburg, Russia Lucky is very indian at heart and has been bought up with traditional values. The country is in turmonil..bomb blasts, terrorist activity and riots are breaking out more and more.

Adi(Salman Khan) is on his way to Russia from Paris to meet his father the Indian Ambassador(Vikram Gokhale). The paths of Lucky and Adi cross after Lucky escapes from a sleazebag who tries to molest her. Just when Lucky is going to drop her off-a huge mob of terrorist lay attack on the indian army. Adi and Lucky flee. They take shelter in a old graveyard for the night. In the meantime Adis father employees and old friend and army agent P.D(Mithun Chakraborthy) to track down Adi and Lucky and bring them in safe.....what begins next is a journey and the story of how Adi manages to bring Lucky back to safety and the magic of love blossoms between the two. Do Adi and Lucky manage to reach safety in a war ridden Russia? Does P.D manage to track down the two? LUCKY provides the answers!

For a love story to succeed the story must be able to 1) totally involve the viewer with its emotional impact 2) Have characters that the viewer identifies with from start to finish. LUCKY is a love story that gradually builds a place in your heart as the movie progresses

Scenes that leave a impression on the viewer are

  • The intial comic scenes between Salman/Sneha * The first action sequence with the open fire. *Mithun Chakraborthys entry sequence * The scene where Salman lets Sneha go on the train and stays behind himself only to have Sneha come running back

Salman Khan delivers a worthy performance that is bound to win the audience over. Be it comic scenes, action scenes or romantic scene he plays his part like a seasoned performer. His comic scenes in the earlier part of the movie are a riot and no doubt Salman is a natural at comedy. Even his romantic scenes are well canned-the part he lifts Sneha after the train sequence had the female audience going ’’ga-ga’’.

The star of the show is no doubt new find Sneha! She fits into her role like a glove and looks every inch the part she plays-that of a young and extremely cute school girl! She enacts her part with confidence and looks absolutely stunning on screen! Her chemistry with Salman Khan is spot on and the two vibe very well together which works in the films favour. The resemblance to Ashwariya Rai is there bit in all honesty I found Sneha a LOT cuter! Unforgettable movie!
