Lufthansa-not the best option, but OK

I made two return trips(8 flights) by LH in Sep & Nov this year between Calgary and Delhi/Calcutta. It’s not something exceptionally praiseworthy to mention but didn’t find anything to reject outright.

Check-ins at Calgary and Indian airports were okay as they are staffed with local people but at Frankfurt wasn’t good always. On my first trip I was with my usual politeness but probably they take it as weakness so for the subsequent trips(crossed thru FRA four times in these three months) I wasn’t polite and rather appeared a tough guy to find the staffs behaving normal.:)

A difference in behavior was noted between the flights connecting FRA with India and those connecting FRA with Canada. Again had to be assertive with a slightly raised voice in couple of instances to bring the airhostess to normal, but that was only once.

Food was kind of OK, nothing like BA and in fact they were not very particular about my meal preference. Gave some silly excuses for not being able to provide, which I had to accept as arguments in mid-air won’t lead anywhere. FRA airport is awesome with it’s cleanliness and shine, very appealing to travelers. But again the staffs at duty free are not with the usual friendliness that you see in other airports. Germans are challenged in English language which might be a reason.

I have been told by people about their horrible experiences flying LH but taking 8 flights in a gap of 3 months, I didn’t find something to raise a concern. Overall, it is not the best option but with the strong connectivity they have with various places in the world they stand next to BA for people travelling to/from India. Hope they will get rid of the racist crews in due course if they want to beat competition.
