I travelled LH in the Chennai - Frankfurt - Seattle sector(onward/return). All flights were on time but I did not get the food I asked for - I ordered for Indian Veg but they did not have any Veg food on the Frankfurt - Seattle flight. I was on the last row and by the time they came to my row, all Veg were gone! I told them that I had ordered specifically, but they said either take something else or leave it. I had to live on Juice/Water for over 10 hours during the flight.
On the Seattle - Frankfurt route, they changed my seat without even informing me in favour of one German family. I told them that this is not fair and I want my seat. The response? They said that I have another flight to take from Frankfurt to Chennai, so if I fight here, this flight will delayed and I will miss the other flight. How nice?
They gave me another seat but they did not note it down for meals purpose. Again, they gave me some other food and did not accept the fact that I have ordered for Indian Veg. And then one of the flight attendants came to me and scolded me for changing my seat! Even though I told her that it was not me who changed the seat, it was of no use.
I also clearly saw the way Germans and Indians were treated. I thought racism were only at ground zero. It was very disgusting to see such discriminations even at 35000 feet.
It has been 4 months since I travelled with LH and I still fighting with them to get my mileage points. Except for punctuality there is nothing great to write about LH. Even though I have rated it as Average, the only reason why I would recommend this airline is when you have to choose between Heathrow or Frankfurt. Heathrow is more chaotic and BA has history of lost luggages, especially on London - US sector. Frankfurt is relatively calm and far less chaotic.
