The Bagalamukhi Temple is located in Bankhandi village of Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, India. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Baglamukhi. It is one of the 51 famous Shakti Peethas of the country. Shakti Peethas are sacred sites in Hinduism where parts of Goddess Sati’s body fell after her demise. It is believed that the left breast of Devi Sati fell at this temple. Goddess Baglamukhi is also known as Pitambara Devi which means " the one who loves or love to wear yellow colour". So to show the connection of the colour with goddess’s choice the temple is painted yellow. Moreover devotees use yellow offerings , yellow chunari for Devi Baglamukh and wear yellow clothes while visiting the temple.
