A Commendable University

I have experience studying at University of Madras(UOM), Madhurai kamaraj University(MKU) & Allagappa university(AU). My degree in MKU, DDE is BLISC & MLISC.

I like MKU for the following reasons:-

The course fee is low then most other TN universities. AU is costlier.

Instant Admission in MKU Admission centers, they make a print out of both the admission & ID card in the same sheet & hand it to you right away.

UOM adds additional admission costs for admissions through its Study centers & AU takes a month to deliver the ID card.

You can check the fee paid in their website MKU, DDE & can confirm your admission & payment(some times it won’t work)

All forms and hall tickets can be downloaded through MKU, DDE website. Announcements are published and updated constantly. The website is easy & much useful. UOM, DDE website is well maintained too but it’s too confusing & easy to miss things then MKU.

In case of AU you can’t see much expect results, exam venue, time table & stuff. You must rely on its Study center.

MOSTLY in practical’s you get a pass mark at minimum, rest depends on how you perform. Same thing goes for other universities in case of practicals.

To get a pass mark in the MKU examinations, your answers must be relevant to the subject and in sufficient size. By this method you can get a second class.

Answering more relevant will get you a First class. You cannot get away with the same trick with UOM, they most probably fail you.

MKU, DDE ensures fast processing of results, dispatching of TC, consolidated mark sheet & provisional certificate. UOM is very famous for its delayed exam dates & processing but not too often. AU is normal in that aspect.

The thinks I find too hilarious about MKU, DDE:-

Total Bull sh t study materials. My BLISC book has very poor DTP work. Lots of errors like arrangement, no difference between headings & sub headings, pages are printed in the format of 9, 10, 16, 17, 18, 11, 12., punctuation errors & the most hilarious is the content of the material.

It’s a total bad copy & paste job, it lacks consistency, confusing & sometimes makes no scene. Many of them are outdated. The most bizarre thing is it remains the same for centuries.

Only the outer book cover is changed from time to time. My MLISC book is much better but still sucks at its content. I wonder which PHD idiot prepared it & why no PHD idiots ever read this before printing or care to correct it.

The faculty from the contact classes are mostly annoying & inefficient in theories. Not all but many. As this is the case with all universities, one can skip worrying about this.

For most practical exams & practical training classes, one have to attend them only in the main university in Madurai.

MKU got very little examination centers then UOM. This is purely because the strength of enrolled students is low. One may have to cover long distances for attending examinations.

Things to remember:-

For some courses you have to go to Madurai, so confirm it before you join. For any grievances write to PRO, controller or the Registrar depending on the type of the issue.

If you don’t get a reply write an RTI application send it with Rs.10/- postal order to the PIO. Telephoning or visiting in person won’t work but RTI does. Make the writing short, go straight to the point & ask exactly what you need.

Be vigilant about the instructions given. Follow the exact instructions & keep a copy of transactions. Learn the typical working attitude of a typical state university. Be flexible, adjustable & vigilant.

Conclusion: I find MKU is much better than its competition, with low fee, great website resources, & study 30% you get a pass, study 60% you get good marks & degrees from MKU has some value. I surely would recommend anyone to enroll there. Rest depends purely on LUCK & your APPROACH.

I my experience the easiest and most corrupted piece of Sh t university is the Annamalai university, a haven for name sake degrees.
