Mahabaleshwar is a hill station located in Satara District, 290 kms south-east of Mumbai. You can go from Mumbai or Pune by bus there. It is a great destination if you can afford the rooms. In season, there is no room less than 500 bucks per day plus 75 bucks tax. The Mahabaleshwar is pickpocketer from the word dasturi naka. There is entry tax of 10 bucks on arrival by Mahabaleshwar Municipal Council. Trips are available at 250 bucks . There are a number of beautiful points like Lodwick Point, Aurther Seat, etc. Venna Lake is great for boating. Costs 100 bucks. In off-season, the hotels cost 285 bucks a day. But it is foggy and rainy and most of the points are closed and if you go there, there is fog and you can see nothing. Neverthless, if you can afford to rent a car, or have ur own 4 wheeler, it is worth roaming about. So if you can afford 5 grand bucks in season (Nov to June) or 2.5 grand bucks (July to Oct) , go for it. Otherwise, stay away! This is not for cheapskates. Restaurants are expensive (A grade restaurant costs 75 bucks for ordinary dinner). Neverthless, it is great value for money. And dont forget the camera! otherwise you will repent it forever
You can pick strawberry and other berry jams, honey and wooden products. Also, there are lucky 7 casinos everywhere hence gamblers can give their luck a shot
