I visited MB in the nov 2008 and stayed at MTDC resorts. Do book early during peak season as many people flock to this place in n around mumbai & pune. MTDC is 3 kms from main market place but u can always walk down the scenic roads. Me my wife had great time walking down the scenic roads surrounded by woods. Room service is average but hotel food is anything but good. They take lots of time to serve n food quality doesn’t match upto its price. You need atleast 3 days to see everything around.
View points from various sahayadri hills is worth watching but u need to do lots of trekking along the steep steps all along...best time to visit is nov as winter just sets in so its not harassing cold. Evenings are very pleasant....do go for boat ride in vinna lake if u want strawberry u must wait till december. The one big negative is the heavy load shedding at all times of year. No power for nearly 8 - 10 hrs per day. So charge your mobiles all the time.
The best mobile network is vodafone and airtel. There’s is no reliance / tata network...
