I visited mahabalipuram for the first time when I visited Chennai for a friends wedding.
We took a 3hours long bus ride of 57km from chennai on quite a sunny day.
We reached the place around 12 pm and has only 3 hours to explore the place.
5min walk from the bus stop is the shore temple.we entered with a entry fee of rs 30 per person. A treat to the eyes if you love historic places and beach.we explored the place surrounded by many ruins.
Place also has a very well maintained garden with toilets available for public.
As the day go sunny we walked to the line of shacks that sell fresh fish fry and articles made of sea shells.
I loved the fish fry and had a lime soda to beat the heat.
Way back to the bus stop I purchased pestle a and mortar for quote a bargain .as mahabalipuram is known for stone sculpultures.
Must recommended place to visit.as its close to pondicherry as well.
I will be soon visiting this place again
