On 26th Jan 2001.MTNL in mumbai flashes advt. in Times of India, Local calls facility is extended upto 200kms. What does it makes u..?? U start making calls to the relatives in Nasik, Pune, Boisar, etc. These cities are located atleast 120kms away.
We have also made calls for talk time of more than an hour, hoping that we are paying 3Rs, per minute. When we received the bill it was high. How it happened.
It is noting but we ended up paying STD amount bill at a cost of local access number.
This is open cheating by MTNL and DOT, India.

This service is good in case of emergency, but is it easy to change the habitat of persons.? NO..
Why to pay so high cost for this facility,
Best alternative is lock the 95 code using STD locking facility e.g 121-xxxx-2
This will allow only local calls. One can save on hefty bills due to 95 access.
