Maharaja: Bikhari on Quality.

I purchased a Maharaja Whiteline OTG (Oven-Toaster-Griller) for Rs.3150/-. It was the sales guy who insisted that it was a good product. However my experience with it didn’t prove so. (Damn! I should have known better than to believe the sales guy.)

I found the product to be of inferior and cheap ’China make’ quality. The grill tray wouldn’t fit into the OTG. It had to be literally forced in by hand. I also found a loose glass piece in the door handle. When I asked the ’Maharaja demo guy’ why the grill tray had to be forced so hard, he replied it is normal, that’s how the product is. At the rear of the product is written ’Made in P.R.C’. The sales guy tried to convince me it was made in India. P.R.C stands for the ’Peoples Republic of China’. Why the abbreviation, are they trying to hide the facts from the customers?

The dealer wouldn’t refund the money, so I exchanged it for another Maharaja Whiteline OTG. This time the grill tray didn’t have to be forced but it still wouldn’t move in smoothly. The body has dents on it.

I found the quality of the product inconsistent and inferior. Looks like the company does no quality checks on it’s products.

In brief Maharaja Whiteline is a inferior quality ’China Make’ product. It’s not worth the money.

Try Sunflame or Bajaj for quality OTG. Too sad I didn’t know that before.
