The bolero without ABS(Anti lock braking) can be a death trap.
I met with an almost serious accident with a bolero that I was driving on highway at about 90 kmph. There was a bus standing on the highway which caused me to brake hard. This caused the bolero to skid sideways and I hit the tyre on the median of the expressway and the tyre burst.causing the bolero to topple on its roof.
Luckily due to seat belts and gods grace I came out unscathed after hanging upside down for about 3 minutes.
The point here is that sudden braking at even 90 or 100 can cause the bolero to skid and topple. This in my opinion is because its engine is heavy and the vehicle has a high center of gravity like all SUVs.In addition the weight distribution of the bolero is more to the front so it is even more unstable than a normal SUV.
Because it has heavy weight in the front, It is not a vehicle designed for high speed. Here high speed means anything beyond 70 . this can cause Bolero to skid or roll due to sudden braking or change in lane etc. A low height car like swift or ford or hyundai accent would not have toppled due to better weight distribution and low height even with hard braking.
Anybody buying bolero for highway driving or vacation in the mountains should think twice as it is front heavy and can flip over merely by applying hard brakes.
