Update on 01-03-2017:
Updating the review after 4 Years of driving it. have clocked about 27, 000 Kms, I use is to drive daily to office, which is about 28 Kms from my Home. Strange but it still gives me about 40 KMPL! I do what I;ve been doing it all these years, - Maintain it and it returns good. Pick up is still Good, and starts in 1st Kick in morning, No issues so far with this .
Some times I really can’t understand that how people talk ill about this scooter. I’ve seen Activa Owners crying and sulking over their scooter’s performance, while I’ve been lucky in this matter. Activa is no doubt a very good vehicle, but Duro Dz, Gusto are also good. After all it’s from Mahindra and not from any next door mechanical shop. Why talk ill about it, when you fail to maintain it? Keep it clean, well lubricated.
Don’t just depend upon 1 or 2 services in a year. You need to maintain it apart from regular service. It doesn’t cost anything. I clean it’s spark plug, air filters, on my own at home, once a month. Haven’t changed the Spark plugs till date and had changed the Air Filter just once, a few months ago.
Duro DZ is really great bike to ride!, I own it since January 2013 have ridden about 5380 KMS. I maintain it regularly and take good care of it, and she give back a comfortable Mileage of 47-50 KMPL. I’ve ridden it in Hills to, Just came back from trip to Teesta from Siliguri, on Steep hills, Had absolutely no issues or problems with Pick up or riding up the hill, with Pillion rider .
We had very comfortable ride both ways. We made sure to break journey every 1 hrs for 15-20 mins for refreshing Darjeeling TEA:)
