Mahindra Duro DZ 125: for STRONG people

Experience so far: I purchased it in November 2012 Zero service & chalta hai (unprofessional) attitude

As the title suggest, FOR STRONG people (sarcastic statement) Its really meant for strong people, because in monsoons if it rains for more than an hour the battery dies & you won’t be able to even kick-start your Duro so it will need a good amount of muscle power to drag this heavy vehicle from one place to another.

The battery is placed just below the foot-mat where it easily comes in contact with water & I guess thats the reason for poor battery performance. I called up the Mahindra service station (Laxmi dealers in Ahmedabad) to solve the problem, they refused to visit my place & as a result I had to drag my Duro for 2 Kms to reach their service station & the problem does not end here, they later provided me with warranty card for the battery whose serial no. was not matching with battery’s number & said "Customers only are eligible to claim warranties, We can’t help you".

The battery providing company "AMCO" said that as the serial number doesn’t match we can’t change the battery, Mahindra dealers just handed me the letter which requested AMCO to change battery as that battery’s warranty card was lost (which is not acceptable by AMCO).

So now it’s a WIN-WIN-LOSE situation for MAHINDRA-AMCO-CUSTOMER. Mahindra people says "I tried to convince AMCO but kya kare ?". AMCO says "How can I replace a battery without a valid warranty card, " and now I am at the loss because of their negligence. the problem started on 27th September 2013 & till now (10th October 2013) my Duro is just standing in their service center.

Fuel Efficiency

Fuel efficiency is Not as per their promises but at least its better than old models of Activa. but in today’s terms & comparing with new models of two wheeler launched by various companies, its nowhere near the current standards. + As I said earlier it runs only on muscle power during rains so its quite fuel efficient.

Comfort

It has a wide seat so it really comfortable if you have to travel long distances. boot space is really good but effective space to carry things drastically reduces because of helmet holder provided in that space.

CONCLUSION

BAD SCOOTER + very BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE = lots of INCONVENIENCE & FRUSTRATION.
