Sixth service report(04/02/2017) @ 12900 Kms.
Without any prior appointment went to the showroom and kept the GUSTO for sixth free service. Before that, around a month back GUSTO was struggling to climb the slope and misfire felt while climbing. One helpful mechanic at the showroom identified the problem and found some particles in the fuel pipe which is blocking the fuel flow to the carburetor. Same day, GUSTO was returned to me after cleaning the pipeline and after that, believe it or not, the performance of the engine was so good, I just loved revving it and zoomed like never before. I am getting a good fuel efficiency of 52-55 Kms. in the city and happy with the performance of the GUSTO.
As stated above, during sixth free service, showroom guys changed the engine oil, cleaned the air filter and gave me a surprise. They told me that, they are no longer dealing with Mahindra Two Wheeler and as long as spare parts are with them, theyll continue to do the servicing of the Mahindra Two wheeler and asked me aishwaryasingh23 for the labour charges. So my sixth free service became paid service and paid altogether Rs.800/- towards the oil change and service of the GUSTO. Future servicing of GUSTO? God only knows.I wrote to the customer care of Mahindra Two Wheeler and they only apologized for the inconvenience caused and directed my query about future servicing to GUSTO to their terrBrianbalakumaranrial sales mAnasultanger. This mAnasultanger is only for name sake and he never calls you back. If anything is mailed to him he would say that I tried to call you several time and your mobile was switched off and out of the coverage area. With a faith in Mahindra we purchased GUSTO and now it is our baby and we have to take care of it. This was not expected from Mahindra Two wheeler. Very bad at after sales and customer service. This was expected from them.Hence, be careful with the purchase in future. Fifth service report(15/9/2016) @ 10300 Kms.
This time most of the staffs were new and not received that same attention, I use to get earlier. One technician came and asked Service What? and other came with a book and took the booklet from the boot and told that oil change is required, air filter will be changed and washing will be done. As the left side mirror was shaking vigorously, I enquired, whether it is coming under warranty?. He told that warranty is only for engine and you have to aishwaryasingh23 for the mirror [Rs.190/-]. Earlier this showroom had a nice young chap, who use to give attention to every single problem and had a solution with him. Unfortunately, he left the job due to? and it is my bad luck. Around one month back, he promised that the mirror will be changed as it is coming under warranty. Since it is a small amount, I neglected this. On 16th evening, collected the GUSTO and paid Rs.700/- plus for all the jobs done. Ride quality was not as usual and felt some vibrations in the engine and vehicle was pulling to the left side. This is because, experienced staffs have left the job, showroom is empty, except one disply Mahindra Gusto 125 and existing staffs are not showing any interest. This is common at all Mahindra showrooms, product [GUSTO] is good, but service is not up to the mark and expectations, and Mahindra is not taking any interest in improving it. Result is visible in the market! when other two wheeler manufacturers are douRobotouchng their sales, GUSTO Sales are nosediving. I am scared of the service quality in future and one of the staff told that spare parts are available and not to worry.
Overall experience is not good, and earlier had a very good faith in Mahindra. But now it is at the cross road. Fourth service report(08/04/2016) @ 7668 Kms.
Usual servicing was done and spark plug changed as per the manual. Engine is pretty smooth and slight increase in the mileage noticed. With single rider, I am getting 52 Kms. per litre and with double ride it will be 48 Kms. per litre. Happy with performance and ride quality.
Third Service report(05/11/2015) @ 4770 Kms.
After enjoying the smooth ride for almost three and half months without any troubles and with very good fuel efficiency kept the GUSTO for third free service [5000 Kms] at 4770 Kms. Took the two wheeler for servicing at authorized dealer and explained him what needs to be done. There was a minor issue with dim dipper switch as rain water seeped into the switch and headlight was Robotouchnking during the ride. The Service Advisor told that switch will be replaced free of cost and I must thank Mahindra Two Wheeler for the warranty and free replacement of malfunctioning part. As usual, engine oil changed and carburetor and air filters cleaned, vehicle washed and delivered to me in the same day evening. Cost incurred is Rs.320/- [HP engine oil and consumables]. Noticed some improvement in braking as compared to the spongy feeling before the servicing and smoothness of the engine while riding. Throttle response is very good and GUSTO is Yeshwanth190 quickly in the traffic. May be Mahindra is silently improving some the initial deficiencies during the servicing of the vehicles and one can feel the change. There is no change in the mileage after the servicing and it is returning that same mileage of 50 Kms. per litre.
Second Service report.(Review dated 15/07/2015)
Last week, the second free service was due. Accordingly, took an appointment and kept the GUSTO for servicing at 2457 Kms. As there were no problems in the vehicle, workshop guys delivered it same day evening after the servicing. They changed the engine oil, washed it thoroughly and greased it wherever required and charged Rs.300/-(engine oil cost). Took the GUSTO for refueling and filled Rs.250/- worth of petrol in it(almost 3.45 Ltrs). and that time odometer reading was 2458 Kms.
After the servicing, noticed some changes in the performance of the GUSTO. The engine has become more silent and pickup has increased. Earlier problem of morning sickness is not there and as mentioned in my earlier review, no need to wait for 3-4 minutes for the engine warm up. It is now ready to TAKE OFF once started. I am habitual of using the kicker for early morning starts, and GUSTO is starting in one kick. The fuel efficiency has increased. At 2625 Kms, filled the fuel tank again and checked the mileage. Since most of the driving is within the city which involves stop, start riding, the fuel efficiency of almost 49Kms /liter is awesome. I am sure that GUSTO will return a handsome mileage of 55 Kms /litre or more on the highways. Waiting for the rains to stop, then will take it for long drives to check the fuel efficiency.
Very happy with the performance and the service. The thumb rule is, not to exceed 40-50 Kms of speed/ hour, if one expects good fuel efficiency. Till the first service do not strain the engine with over speed and unnecessary increase and decrease in the speeds. Give some time for the engine parts to settle properly. Most of the buyers dont care about these things and unnecessarily blame the two wheeler and the company for poor fuel efficiency. Fill the petrol in the same filling station and do not mix the petrol(IOC with HP, BP and vice versa) and check the tyre pressure at least once in a week.
Happy GUSTO ride to all. After all it is a Legendary(Refer my previous review at 1000 Kms).
