Mahindra KUV100 ( S101) mini SUV is all set to launch in India on 15th January, 2016. Dealers across the country have started taking bookings for the vehicle at a token amount of Rs. 10, 000. The home-grown automaker that appointed Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan as the new mini SUV’s brand ambassador, has already revealed the technical specifications and details of the vehicle.
This sub-4 meter SUV will be positioned below the Quanto/ Canto and the TUV300 compact SUV. With aggressive styling and commanding road presence, the KUV100 will target the young buyers who otherwise go for the Hyundai Grand i10 and Maruti Suzuki Swift.
The Mahindra’s new mini SUV is expected to be priced within the range of Rs. 4 lakh – Rs 6.5 lakh ( ex-showroom) . Since it will cater to a niche segment, it won’t have any direct competition in the country. But, at this price, this mini SUV will take on the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R, which is available at a starting price of Rs. 3.88 lakh ( ex-showroom, Mumbai) . It might also affect sales of the Ford EcoSport. The production of the Mahindra’s new compact SUV will take place at the company’s Chakan plant near Pune.
