I have test driven the 1.4 GLX logan today. This is the second time I am doing a logan vehicle.
As you all know, many people have written a lot about the same. I own a maruti 800 and using it more more than 11 years, and the difference I felt when driving this vehicle was obvious. But ihave test driven ikon, baleno, esteem, accent GLE and logan and could not take a decision because of various reason.
My budget is a max of 6lacs and will be using the vecle sparingly, once or twice in a week in bangalore city and occasionally in koorg, mangalore side where the road is in pathetic condition and hilly.. So my main concern is the ground clearance, good pick up in slope, better service if breaks down and low maintanance expenses.
I was evaluating many cars and logan happened to me one of my favourites. After driving it today, I have more questions than answers. I would like to expect some comments from the logan owners.
Solid looks. Good interiors for that money. Does it really solid and strong within?
Ground clearance is described as 172 mm now. What exactly is the ground clearance.How could they made a mistake earlier by quoting 155mm. Is this laden/unladen values.
Engine power is too low in 2nd gear. Very difficult to climb slopes. Is this an underpowered to use it in gatt/hilly kind of roads?
Suspension is really soft.so good riding. But what will happen if the vehicle is full and tried to go past normal humps in indian roads?
Apart from that, as many pointed out no space on the left side of the clutch. indicator, wiper on ooposite side. no remote boot releae... Are they really going to look at these issues.
Is the vehicle lighter than many of it’s rival in the same price range?
How abt the after sell service. Can we service the vehicle from every mahindra authorised service centers. (Bolero, scorpio guys)
Vehicle found to be making lots of noise(The vehicle I driven today is a brand new one). The dealers said the suspension bush might not have been tighten enough... What is the drivinbg experience on lower gears.
How relaible is the machine for long trips? How good is thjeir service across thje country.
Could not see much logan’s on Bangalore road. are they inflating their sales achieved?
As far as my driving experience is concerned, it was good, except for the occasional noises on lower gears sounding as if the vehicle is touching the ground every time as well as the occasional suspension noise. I still think it isvalue for money.
You can take this as my observation and will be happy if somebody can answer to these queries.
