I wanted to update after 5000 kms but due to diesel unavailability - and rationing of diesel across pumps in chennai (in one pump - they allowed me to purchase diesel for Rs.150 only...) - my mileage calculations went for a toss. Hence my apologies for not updating after 5000 kms.
right now I have driven 7300 kms (in less than three months of ownership - bought on July 11 - roughly 100 kms driving a day) - and I am getting a mileage of 16.3 in the city - with AC always on and 18.66 on highways (with AC always on) - mind you I always go 110+ on highways. This 18.66 is based on the following figures. I filled my tank - reset the trip meter and went on a long trip with my family - came back in the night after driving 607.7 kms - filled the tank again with 32.57 litres of diesel. hence 18.658. diesel that I use is the normal one and not premium or high speed.
For a combined average mileage of 17.59 - my cost per kilometer works out to be Rs. 2.12.
Aditya - I face no gearshift problems. The only problem that I face is that the left window goes up slower than the right window - they fixed it during last service - but the problem persists still. Thats a minor inconvenience that I have learned to live with - until my second service.
I tested the maximum speed of the vehicle - I reached more than 144 on the speedo (the manual says that the vehicle’s top speed is 144 - might be a speedo calilbration error.
The brakes are good. The ’stepney’ change was very easy - as I had a flat tyre. Need to find out how to fix a puncture on a tubeless tyre.
I stick to my earlier stance - the vehicle is value for money.
I will be travelling to Kerala in the first fortnight of October - will edit the review after that trip. Happy and safe driving :-)

After 3700 kms within a month of purchasing logan 1.5 dlx - here are my comments
Pros :
Spacious - can easily accomodate 5 including the driver.
Excellent mileage : prior to first service I got 13.96 in city with a/c always on and 17.6 on highways. After the first service - the city mileage is approximately 15.6 (will check and post an update later).
Excellent Ride quality : Small speed breakers and potholes do not exist - it just glides over them with a small thud.
Cons :
During rains, the left oriented wiper splashes water onto the driver’s side - making driving a little difficult.
Cost cutting is self-evident.
Will post an update after I reach 5000 kms.
If you are looking for a car that is spacious - comfortable - will not empty your pocket fast on fuel - then go in for a logan because thats the best that is available as of now :)
