I had a GLX with me for about a year & a half or so until it got stolen on the 14th Feb 2005. If I remember correctly, I have NOT spent more than 6000 INR at any time on the service (no matter how many parts were changed)..
And that was an added reason for me to be a loyal customer of Mahindra Scorpio yet again. So I hopped back into Vijai Auto Bangalore and ended up booking the TC2 (as they call it, officially its the DX), this time, the CRDE.
I got the vehicle after about 1 months waiting (on May 30th 2005) and have been driving it since then. As you would agree, there is nothing to beat this baby and I have had a really wonderful time driving it. I have the woofer and other things to keep me occupied on long drives, and the Scorpio definitely an invaluable part of my life today!
Having said that, I have started noticing a unique trend in the servicing...Any time you go either to India Garage or Vijai (not tried Sireesh yet), they give you an estimate of about 4-5K but invariably bill you nothing less than 10, 000 Rs.
Thats absurd man!! I have seen this happen to me the last 3 times ultraconservative, better buckle up and check what your dealers are up to, charging so much for each and every vehicle left for servicing. No one ever told us that we will need to shell out 10K+ post 2 years, for the maintenance and servicing each and every time, did they?
And how is it that the sales guys say "Minimum Maintenance Vehicle Sar" at the time of buying...Now I am deeply repenting my purchase and am planning to sell it off since otherwise I may end up spending more than a lakh of Rs. in 2 years only on servicing. And then the other point, even after paying so much, what do you get?
So many small things not taken care of, and you need to spend more than a day with the technicians telling them what to get done.. and the worst part, my vehicle was not even washed when I left it at India Garage, Whitefield Bangalore the last time..
Mahindra is anyway having a lot of issues with its new vehicle Xylo, now they are losing their Scoprio customers also.. Well, I think I will check out the Dicor and see whats in-store for me there...Pardon my wrong review if I am the only person facing this issue..
Before you plan buying the Scorpio, please check with the dealer for the average servicing cost beyond 2 years, and better get something in writing, otherwise believe me you, dont be surprised if you are spending sleepless nights to arrange money for the service!!
