I bought my Mahindra scorpio on August 2005 which has clocked 40, 000 kms.I am proud to own this car it is beautiful to drive. But one must get used to it. From day one I haven’t faced a single problem .As acustomer of mahindra scorpio I ‘rec’ u to go a head with this SUV if you plan to buy it.
I usually travel about 3500 kms a month i.e almost 120 kms / day between Bangalore and almost near kolar
BUT PEOPLE TENT TO GET PROBLEMS WITH THEIR SCORPIO DUE TO THE FOLLOWINGS REASON .
MANY OWNERS WHO DON’T LEAVING THEIR SCORPIO FOR A ONE MIN IDLE SPEED AS ADVISED BY THE COMPANY BEFORE MOVING THE AND BEFORE SWITCHING THE ENGINE OFF.
AS MANY OWNERS RESTING THEIR FOOT ON THE CLUCH EVEN IF NOT REQUIRED.
REGULARY SERVICE YOUR SCORPIO AT EVERY 5000 KMS
THIS IS HOW I MAINTAIN MY TROUBLE FREE SCORPIO.
REPLACEMENT OF SPARES UNTILL 12/09/2006 FOR 40, 000 KMS
1] ENGINE OIL AT EVERY 10, 000 KMS
2] FRONT BRAKE PADS REPLACED.
3] REAR BRAKE LINEING REPLACED.
4] TIEROD ENT REPLACED.
5] AC COMPRESSOR FAN.
6] BRAKE BOOSTER FAILER [company replaced it free of cost including labour as it was in warranty.]
Scorpio is a good vehicle from Mahindra. I do accept there are a few things that mahindra can improve like braking of the vehicle, fine tuning has to be done in the handling department of the vehicle , But once you learn to drive this vehicle it is one among the best there is a common problem with the vehicle gearbox. i.e changing gear from 1st to 2nd is hard and when the vehicle is old the gear shift in all the gears are a little harder and needs a little more effort to change them. No comments on the engine power. It can crush on any terrine with ease I have traveled on almost all surface on hills, city’s, express way’s hiway’s ect. It is so easy to drive on all surface. I love the way the vehicle behaves in guar sections with its compact dimensions and very powerful engine it is very easy to handle in guar sections the suspensions of the vehicle is great I haven’t had any problem with the vehicle suspension so far and still looking good and the tyres are also looking good and may last a another 15, 000 kms brake need a little more attention on heavy braking the brakes tent to get locked and vehicle fish tails around.The over all road attraction is good.
Mahindra scorpio does’nt topple easily unless and until the driver makes a big mistake.
