Mahindra Scorpio 2.6 CRDE ( June 2008)

I have just bought  a new CRDE engine, I have always loved this car somehow the innova coming fom a toyota stable is smooth, since I have been using one and has done 75k but there was something about the scorpio that pulled me towards it .

I love this car its got its own character though not as smooth and stable as the innova but yet again these are two different kina machines a wanna be SUV and a decent MUV .

I am facing issues with my scorpio after 1200 km use .

I am not sure but I feel there is a funny grinding sound that emits from the car when it starts rolling specially above 30 kmph .

On getting it checked I was told the drive shaft of the vehicle will have to be changed, the company took about 10 days to procure this, the external long shaft took about 20 minutes to change and thankfully has been doing great after that.

I am impressed with the way Mahindra treats its clients, specially the vehicles . THey are particular about interiors not getting dirty .

My vehice has now started returning a mileage of 12 km/l which again is a decent figure considering this monster truck .

I was planning to invest into a Jetta or even the 3 series as they have given me a good deal on the rate of interest .

The only thing that keeps making me change my mind away from cars is the kind of safety and road presence you enjoy in an SUV .

While we talk on SUVs the only tue VFM is the Mahindra Scorpio . Nothing comes close to this even if I want to spend another 10-15 lacs to buy either a Pajero , Captiva, Ford Endeavour .

Pajero - I had almost convinced myself on this product but the Indian Version is a very old mill with a TURBO DIESEL although intercooled .

Captiva - Excellent looks but Chevy seems to be on a dying mode I remember selling my corsa for 85000 .

Nice products but sad resale .

FORD - Excellent power terrain, a little bulky and tough to handle with spares, not a very energy efficient engine .

Consider all the above I feel the new MHAWK by Mahindra answers solves quite alot of Paradox on the issue .
